Municipality of Oirschot and B&G conclude
framework contract

Great price reduction on
site security for entrepreneurs of business park
Westfields
"Nobody wants to be located at a
neglected business park", says Ton van Son. He is account manager
of Westfields, the new business park that is being developed by the
municipality of Oirschot. In order to achieve and maintain the
desired image for this project the municipality sets requirements
regarding the design of the different plots. This includes the two
to three kilometres long fence that will approximately be needed in
the final plan. To stimulate quality and uniformity in this
respect, the municipality signed a framework contract with B&G
Entrance Control, the specialist in site security from Best.
Westfields is a business park that
is being developed by the municipality southeast of Oirschot, near
the junction between the A2 and the A58 highways. The new site - of
which an initial part has been cleared/prepared for construction to
start this year - is aimed at companies in the manufacturing
industry that are looking for premises between 5,000 m2 and 3 to 4
hectares of land. The site links very well with the Eindhoven
Brainport region. "Westfields is situated to the West of this
area", says Van Son. "Hence the name."
Image quality
plan
Naturally, the municipality will
take entrepreneurs' individual needs into account when decorating
the site. At the same time it aims to create a coherent, overall
image that fits with the green countryside. In order to achieve
this, the municipality has drafted both a development- as an image
quality plan.
Van Son explains the choice for
such a plan: "Our municipality is investing heavily in this site.
We want it to be top-notch and for it to stay that way." That is
why the municipality expects buyers to pursue a certain level of
quality. Van Son points out that this is in their best interest.
"You prevent the site from becoming a mess. In this way, sites
continue to be acceptable and are marketable in the longer
run."
Uniform property
boundary
One of the conditions of the image
quality plan concerns the premises' enclosure. To 'create a uniform
image' and 'to warrant spacial quality', every plot has to be
fenced off with black vertical bar fences or welded mesh fences. In
addition, the entrance gates need to be made of black vertical bars
(Palissade). To promote the desired uniformity the municipality
concluded a framework contract with B&G Entrance Control.
B&G came first in a tender in which competitors were tested on
meter price, discount rates for additional supplies and
warranties.
Great project
discount
As a result of this framework
contract, entrepreneurs at Westfield who choose for B&G
fencing, gates and barriers are given a great project discount,
says van Son. And that will not be their only advantage: "In case
an entrepreneur purchases B&G fencing he will surely meet the
municipality's demands. Moreover, choosing the same type of fence
will prevent discussions between neighbours from happening."
In the meantime, a number of
parties have shown their interest in Westfields to Van Son, who, as
the project manager, is the first point of contact. At an early
stage he explains them the opportunities that B&G's framework
contract has to offer. "The information that I received from
B&G is ready for distribution", he smiles. Simultaneously, he
keeps B&G informed about the business park's developments. So
far, the co-operation has been excellent. Van Son: "I have
already noticed that communication with the management in Best is
fast and easy."
